We acknowledge and thank the Lekwungen People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations community for allowing us to live, work and play on their lands. We also give thanks to the ancestors, supernatural ones, hereditary leaders and matriarchs, and creatures big and small for looking after the rich resources and cultural teachings of beautiful Vancouver Island.
In the North, we also give thanks to Komoks, We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, Homalco, and Tla'amin First Nations. As we all work towards reconciliation, we strive to acknowledge and honour these Nations by sharing stories that respect and celebrate the region. We are forever indebted to the Indigenous Peoples who have cared for this land since time immemorial.
